ITA #2: Encouragement for Your Mornings

By September 8, 2012Podcast

Yay for Podcasting

Now that the school year routine is in full swing, I’m so excited to get going on this podcast. I’m certainly a rookie, but it’s a blast.

I love listening to podcasts while I exercise, do dishes, finish chores and while in the car. They are a great way to learn and get inspired while you’re on the go.

You can listen to this podcast here on the blog or if you have an iPad, iPod Touch or iPhone, I highly recommend the app Downcast. It’s a great way to organize and find podcasts.

There is also a free Apple Podcast app that is excellent for those just wanting to keep up with one or two different shows.

In This Episode…

In this episode I’ll share my favorite planning, workout and Bible Study tips as well as the story and vision behind the HelloMornings Challenge and Inspired To Action.

If you have topics you’d like me to cover in future episodes or people you’d like me to interview, please share in the comments. Thanks!

    Hello Kat,

First of all thank you fir the inspiring podcast….
It is true that being and staying focused is an habit.. and in order to become an
Habit it needs to be practiced..
I started my Hello Mornings Challenge very enthusistic but aware of the fact that it will be hard and difficult to wake up earlier than my birls and to have my quiet moment before my busy day would began…. But day after day is going better and easier to focus all my energy on these 15 minutes… with Him and with my planning… I also start the habit to pray and speak to him during my walk to my office every single morning and try to understand with Him which are the real challnges of the day to focus on in order to have more ime, quality time with my girls…
Thanks also to the wonderfull women of the Hello mornings staff and my ”’captain” i find simplier to wake up early and find renewed energies each morning..

So thank you very much… to everyone…. i know that sometimes it is hard but feel that i have resally started a new and great habit.

You are so encouraging! Thank you!

  • Susan says:

Loved the podcast Kat, and your life of leading others to Jesus through small steps.
So inspiring, and doable…gets rid of that overwhelming feeling of… I can’t possibly do this. Keeping in the Word, focussing on God and loving others through him as a daily habit that will grow is an amazingly wonderful goal.
Thankyou for this site and podcast

That was such a great podcast.
I turned it on and told myself I’d turbo-clean our apartment for as long as the podcast lasted. It made a HUGE difference.
May I ask what some of your favorite podcasts are to listen to? I have been trying to find one that is inspirational and also practical for ideas on everything from keeping a clean house to simplifying possessions to being a disciplined pray-er … it’s kind of hard to know what search words to use, so I wondered if maybe you had found any.
Anyway, thank you for starting a podcast. I can’t wait to hear the rest! You have a great speaking voice – makes for easy listening. : )

I am so excited for you and your growth. I pray that you will continue to be encouraged and grow closer to the Father!

Hi Kat! I was just wondering if you could share a list of your favorite podcasts that you like to listen to? I clean a couple of houses every other week, and I would really like to start listening to content that is more educational/edifying/character building than just listening to the same music all the time. So I’ve really been wanting to get more into podcasts and audio content like that, but I have no idea where to start or how to find truly good content to fill my mind with. I’d like to focus on Christian themes of being a wife and mother, home making, serving the Lord, etc. Thanks for any help you can lend my way!

I love Simple Mom’s podcast and Michael Hyatt’s podcast. I actually listen to a lot of blogging podcasts, and not as many mom podcasts. I imagine, though that if you look up Simple Mom’s podcast in iTunes that it should suggest similar ones. You might also look up your favorite preachers and see if they have podcasts. I like to listen to Francis Chan on the old Cornerstone Church Simi Valley podcasts.

I also have an Audible membership and listen to LOTS of audio books.

I hope that helps a bit!

      • Kassandra says:

Awesome, thanks so much! I now have all of Simpe Mom’s podcasts downloading in my new Downcast app! I’m excited that they all look pretty long, they will help fill the 5 hours during my cleaning jobs every other week. Thanks so much for the recommendations!

  • Joyce says:

Just getting to listen to this now, and passed it on to my HMC group. They will be so blessed and encouraged by this!!! It’s so awesome to hear that we can be successful even if we only have a few minutes each morning. I also love exercising throughout the day too. Thanks Kat!
