Today is Motivation Monday! Tell us in the comments if you’ve taken action and get a chance to win today’s giveaway which is a copy of Christa Wells AMAZING album – Frame the Clouds!
THREE of you will win today!
This song…amazing. It’s called A Thousand Things. I’m sure I’ve probably posted it before, but I love this home video version. Check out the gorgeous lyrics below.
You’re gonna cry yourself to sleep
Your’re gonna soak the pillow
for many weeks
You’re gonna cry
Why?
Why me?But in spite of the ache
that doesn’t go away
You’ll be sharing your story
one rainy day
And at the next table somebody catches your words
He hear’s a truth that he’s never heard
He takes it back to the marriage he’d given up on
Hands it down to his daughter
who writes it into song
You didn’t knowA thousand things are happening in this one thing
Like a thousand fields nourished by a single drop of rain
So honey, wrap yourself in promise
while you wait the morning light
A thousand things are happening tonightYou’re gonna cry yourself to sleep
“cause for the moment all that you can see
Is what you’ve lost , lost
Why me?But in the midst of the most exquisite pain
you’re drawn into a peace that You cannot explain
and the praises you sing of a sovereign God
reach the girl whose last hope is gone
she never thought there was purpose in anything here
now the seed has been planted and it’s taking root there
You didn’t knowChorus
A thousand things are happening tonight
You’re gonna cry yourself to sleep
A thousand miracles you’ll have to wait and see
Wow…
Get all the details on the giveaway at the end of the post and find out who won last week’s prize.
The Music Page and a FREE Sampler
You may or may not have noticed that there is a new page on the site.
It will be a repository of songs I think you might enjoy. I’ll be adding to it often, so be sure to check it out.
Ann Voskamp, whom I’ve mentioned 1 or 728 times, arranged to give away Christa’s CD to every attendee at the Relevant Conference. I love Christa’s music so much that I spent an hour at that music table, hassling everyone who walked by making SURE they’d gotten their free copy.
I’m such a nerd. 🙂
And you can get a FREE copy too. Well, of a couple of her songs. She has a sampler available at Noisetrade (a music goldmine) that you can download in exchange for a simple social media shout out.
So worth it.
I’ve shared this before, but it’s goodness must be shared again.

I took action this week!
I got up early before my daughter to start the habit of spending time in God’s word BEFORE she wakes up so I can be revitalized and set the tone for my day.
I woke up early and lay in bed reading my Bible verse from Zondervan on my ipad, and I think the last time I posted I told what a failure I’d been at waking up early and how I was going to quit! The gift of an iPad and having it next to my bed means I don’t have to get out of bed and wake the household to turn to God first thing to read his word as well as pray. New hope. If you prayed for me, Kat, thank you! God answered.
Still pressing on…
I took action this week! … Making all the calls to find best pricing for tires for our truck, as hubby requested while he works!

I took action this week!
Challenging myself to speak words that are encouraging to my kids (and myself). It is too easy to speak out of frustration words that belittle and discourage. We want to take every thought – and every word captive.
I finished reading a book on co-dependency. I am now going back over it to do the self-help exercises.
i took action this week!
i cooked two sweet potatoes…took over an hour….instead of heating up quick frozen food for my toddler!
I took action today! Sent the song lyrics to a friend who needs them and prayed for her to be encouraged by the comfort of our GOOD God. Thanks for the song!
oooo…I am trying to get up early, but it’s hard with little ones waking me up in the night!
I took action!!
Mother of 4, 4 years, 2 years and 6 month old twins, the holy spirit is saying “you have to pray more, you need it, your husband needs it, your children need it, is your life line”, So I am taking action, for what my savior has done for me and for what he has already done for my family! Prayers change destiny!!!
Love, Haidy
I took action this week!
I started the Read the Bible in 90 Days program. Ambitious, but such a pageturner!
I took action this week
I finished reading The Mission of Motherhood by Sally Clarkson. Great book!
I took action this week!
I started memorizing Philippians this week!!
Thank you so much Kat for sharing this song. I immediately downloaded it and listened to it about a million times this week. I shared it with my family and friends.
We suffered a miscarriage last week. I was 9 weeks along and we heard a healthy heartbeat 5 days before he died. Being in a foreign country didn’t help either. So having the truths in this song ring out for my grieving heart really helped. Thank you for your ministry!
I have not taken action since the miscarriage. Please pray for me.
Just wanted to say keep up the excellent work!|
