Seriously, friends, I listen to a lot of music. I am picky. This album is stellar.
Tomorrow I’ll share my crazy JJ Heller story. It involves late night YouTube video surfing, a failed blog and So You Think You Can Dance.
Told you it’s a crazy story.
Here’s JJ and Dave (her husband) singing “Your Hands.”
Get all the details at the end of the post and find out who won last week’s prize.
This Week!!!
This is a super exciting week. I’m headed to my very first blog conference, which means:
1. I’ll be able to talk about blogging out loud to people who are just as into it as I am.
2. I get to wear fun, grown up clothes and not just park/zoo/play attire.
3. I get to travel and fly on planes and stay in a hotel and have peace and quiet whenever I want.
Since it’s such an exciting week for me and I wouldn’t be going to this conference if it weren’t for you, I thought this should be a fun time for you too. So I have some fun giveaways lined up this week.
Be sure to check back everyday. I love you all and hope you enjoy the prizes!!

I took action today!
I got up at 6 and exercised and did my devotions. Now onto breakfast with my kids, and chores and school work.
Got up at 5 so I could do my Bible Study and have some time with the Lord BEFORE I finished my charting on patients from last Friday, got my son off to school, woke my husband up to get him off to work, and now getting my daughter up to head to school. So needed time with Jesus this morning! Thanks for the motivation!
I took action today, while listening to Painted Red! Love you JJ!

I’m getting back on the #hellomornings bandwagon and starting with a fresh slate on my blog!

I am on my 3rd week of getting up at 5:30–WOOHOO! SO, this week it’s time to add the quiet time in…not just the workout. Must decide if I should get up at 5am now. BOOHOO. Please. no. 🙂

I purposely carved out some much-needed alone time with my husband. We needed to reconnect outside all of the daily busyness.
I signed up for a gym WITH childcare this week. I am a mother of 3 girls ages : 5,4,2, the wife of a pastor and work a pt job. I have managed to keep my weight down…but am not healthy. After reading the online book about maximizing my mornings…I have made a point to just go to bed 6.5 hours before wake up time. ( I know its supposed to be 7…I’m not there yet!) How wonderful it has been to have even 15 minutes of uninterrupted. Time in prayer and meditation!! I appreciate your blog. It gives me hope and encouragement!!

I am getting my laundry under control with a new laundry system.
I installed a new bookshelf in the bedroom to hold my ever increasing book collection
I woke up at 6 and read my Bible and spent some intentional time praying for my husband and children followed by some time listening to God. It was such a fresh start to the week! 🙂
I took action! I *finally* made it out of bed at 6:00 (instead of baby-steps 6:30) and managed a lovely time of worship, prayer and bible reading before all the kids were up, claiming my full attention. I just can’t work in exercise right now, it has to wait until later in the day. I’ll walk this afternoon while my daughter is in dance class. ~K

I got up and read my Bible and exercised before my family got up!

I got up early, had my quiet time and prayed for my kids before everyone else got up. We also had a family movie night on Saturday (if that counts!) Also worked on my mission statement!!
Kat,
We buried my good friend Steph on Saturday. This song, “Your Hands,” touched me deeply and I will be sharing it with Steph’s husband. I am just leaving a comment to let you know, dear sister, that your faithfulness in blogging is being used by the Lord. Without this post, I would not have known about JJ’s sweet voice and heart-piercing lyrics.
Thank you,
Lisa
Lisa. I am so sorry about the loss of your friend. Will pray for you today.

I’m starting to get this balancing act. My hubby and I got some time to pray together before the kids woke up and then I actually exercised too! After dropping off my 5 year old at kindergarten I hit the road for a run/walk/hills with my 2 year old. Felt SOOO good! Thanks for the encouragement! (I just found your blog over the weekend, loving what I’ve seen so far)
I took action this week! I’m getting (read trying) to get up early and have been doing regular devotions & planning. It helps so much! Now to just keep that in mind at 6:15…

I took action this week!
My hubs and I went out on a date night on Saturday for our 6 year anniversary. We didn’t do a lot, but it was nice to spend time without the kiddos! I was really inspired by watching the post about not being a grumpy mom in the morning. I have really been striving to wake up early…even if it is just 15 minutes to pray for our day and my girls. I love the part of speaking encouragement in the morning. and am really focusing on making that a part of my morning routine.
And can I just add this little extra in cause I am super excited about what this week holds! So excited for what our church will be doing this weekend….having a 24 hour continues chain of prayer and ending with a night of worship! How awesome! Can’t wait to see what God has in store for me this weekend!! : )
I took action this week!
I’m still reading How to Be a Positive Mom by Karol Ladd, and watched Christy Nockels mom video. Am praying to walk in the Spirit to be the amazing mom and wife God knows I can be!

Now that the weather is turning colder and daylight hours shorter, it’s time to take the workout indoors. Thanks to a thoughtfull hubby, I now have a YWCA membership! Not only am I super excited to get to take part in some of my favorite group classes like Body Pump and ZUMBA – I can also take my 2 year old along because they have child care! Endorphins AND and ‘me’ time all wrapped up together! Woo hoo!
I hope you have such a great time at the conference – I’d LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to be there for all the reasons you listed as well. 🙂

I took action this week!
I got up at 5:15 this morning so I could spend some time reading my bible and getting some stuff caught up before going to work.
Hi Kat! I just discovered your blog a week ago. I am a first time mom who wasn’t raised in a christian home. Since becoming a mom I feel like God is reaching out to me in a way that I have never felt before. I started to read the bible in the morning. I started to seek out christian blogs for encouragement. The change in my mentality and in my heart has been so wonderful! Having God in my life has helped me to know love and to feel like my role as a wife and mother is so important. Getting up just 15-30 minutes earlier to read the bible and pray has done wonders in my life!
I took action today!
I got up before my three boys and my husband, worked out at the YMCA, had a devotion (OK, that was later in the morning), played with my baby, cleaned our bedroom, and laid down with my 2.5-year-old because he was having trouble falling asleep for naptime! Made a meal plan LAST week for this week. And then I listened to this song and cried the very first time I heard it.

does it count if I was already taking action before I read this post? Just want you to know, your site really is inspiring. And also, I’m praying “by name” for every one I know of attending Relevant this weekend. I wanted to attend but had to make some choices. I’ll get to one soon.
Anyway, I took action this week!
So, my last blog post is about my action. I have decided that after acquiring a degree in Biblical literature and Christian education 1.5 decades ago, it’s time to put it to use. I am developing a blog series on Unlocking the Bible, to help make it more readable for those with less experience reading it. Series in development now, to begin publishing November 1. I’m a little nervous to be adequate for the job.

This week I continued with the MYM challenge. My mornings now start off with quiet time, prayer and exercise. I’m enjoying my new routine but I know it has to be tweaked a bit for more efficiency. But putting perfectionism aside has allowed me to “just do it”.
I did a daughter date. We had a sweet time of fellowship. i hope to do more of these.
