Christa Wells
The truth behind this song almost makes me speechless. I’ve spent 15 minutes trying to summarize it and I continually fall short. So , just watch this gorgeous performance of Christa singing “A Thousand Things.”
We all have been, are or will be going through difficult times. May the deep truth of this song bring sweet comfort even in times of “the most exquisite pain.” (I think that word combo is just brilliant for this song.)
Learn more about Christa’s music here and download a couple of her free songs.
Denver
I had a wonderful time at (my very first!) speaking engagement in Denver on Thursday. It was ridiculously fun! I spoke at the Fall kickoff of the Mom To Mom group at Denver First Church. Thanks so much to Stephanie and Rebekah, the coordinators, for inviting me.
I love the purpose behind the group. It’s not just for young moms, but moms of all ages, so it was a great opportunity for the wonderful older women in the church to encourage and speak into the lives of the younger women. Almost makes me want to move to Denver!
The beautiful girls, (Abbie, Sayle, Betsy and Meggan) in this photo are actually from Boulder. They read the blog and came out to say hi. I was a lot more nervous than I thought I’d be, so it was very encouraging to look over and see their smiling faces. The coolest part is that it felt like meeting old friends. We chatted forever and bonded over talk about running, daily forms, planning notebooks and the precious way God brings people together. Now, I just need to convince them to move to Texas…
Blogs You Need To Follow This Week
Life…Your Way
I’m really excited about a new blog my friend Mandi from OrganizingYourWay.com is launching today. It’s actually a network of 14 blogs covering topics ranging from organization to finances to motherhood and every useful category in between. I’ll be writing for the Motherhood…Your Way blog along with the amazing and illustrious Amanda from OhAmanda and Impress Your Kids. I’m so honored. I have a lot of admiration for both Mandi and Amanda. Visit the network, Life…Your Way, by clicking here.
Compassion Bloggers In Guatemala
Shaun Groves inspired my first real blog and sparked something of a spiritual revolution with his honest, raw and faith filled writing. When we first met, he was just a self proclaimed “soft rock star” with a fancy house and a cool hair do. He still has the cool hair, but he and his wife, Becky, have since chosen to live simply and dedicate their lives to seeing children released from poverty.
This week Shaun is leading a brilliant group of bloggers, including the amazing Ann Voskamp, to Guatemala to see the work of Compassion first hand. The others bloggers include Beth Moore’s daughter, Amanda Jones from Baby Bangs, Lindsey Nobles, and Lisa-Jo Baker aka GypsyMama.
I’ve followed every Compassion Blogger trip they’ve done and every single one leaves a deep impact on my heart. I hope you’ll follow along and let you’re eyes be opened and your life changed.
