Rest Easy Moms, We Are Not the Rescuers :: Sally Lloyd-Jones :: ITA94

By December 8, 2015Podcast

I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed talking with Sally Lloyd-Jones! She has such encouraging words for us, particularly about how we as moms are not called to be the rescuers of our children. You won’t want to miss the episode as Sally reminds us that we aren’t called to do it all – our children simply need us to be their mom.

Thanks, Ka and Sally, for that interview. I cannot put my finger on it, but so many times throughout your conversation I felt tears well up in my eyes and the Spirit in me said, “Yes, yes! That’s right!” As a mom raising her four kids overseas, I was especially encouraged to think that whatever hard stuff that comes into my kid’ lives because of where we feel called to be, that the Lord is going to use it all to equip them for what He’s called them to and who He’s called them to be. Thank you for your invaluable ministry!!

  • Kat Lee says:

I’m so glad it encouraged you Jane! And I have lots of friends who grew up overseas – and they’re some of my favorites. 🙂

I listened probably 10 times in a row to the section where you talk about grace for parents and where Sally says we are not the Rescuer, God is. Beautiful. Thank you. Yes, yes, yes.

We haven’t read our copy of Jesus Storybook Bible in a while and I am getting it out this afternoon as soon as the kids are home. I am inspired.

  • Laurel says:

This was absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much for pulling the lense back and reminding us it is God’s story, these are God’s children, and He is in control. Grace, grace, grace!
