ITA #41 – Have Children, Will Travel – Around the World in a Year with Stephanie Langford

Note: I’m hosting a free parenting webinar with Amy McCready on Wednesday. I hope you’ll join us. Click here to learn more.

Fascinating. That’s the word I use to describe my friend Stephanie Langford and the journey she took with her family this year. She and her husband, Ryan, traveled around the world with their 4 young children. They visited every single continent and 30 different countries. I followed her journey on Facebook and lived vicariously through her incredible trip.

I’m excited to share her story with you today. It inspires me to do more with my kids and stretch their perspective and world view. I hope it inspires you too.

  1. I am definitely in the “green with envy” category! I have heard a few podcasts around the web with you, Stephanie, about your year abroad and if I knew about following you on facebook I would have loved that, too. This is a family dream of mine but it feels very, very far away, financially. Our family does get out and have adventures quite often, and we’ve been primitive camping with our kids since the youngest was 3. They are quite good car travelers now and even over Christmastime we did an 1800 mile car drive to my home-state in 3 days and they were champs (and then, 10 days later, the same thing coming home)!
My husband and I recently saw a video of a family who went on a hundred(s?) mile canoe trip for a few months and we thought that sounded awesome. We’ve even got the canoe. :) Travel has been an itch in my bloodstream since I was about 15 and had my first international experience. Ever since then, I am always looking ahead to where I want to go next!
