Make Laundry and Dishes Fun!

I get a little giddy when I think about doing the dishes or laundry.

No, I’m not crazy. I discovered podcasts. A podcast is like a little radio show that you can listen to whenever you want. There are a bajillion podcasts out there (I counted.) You can find a podcast on just about any topic you are interested in.

But since you’re reading this blog I assume you’re interested in Motherhood, so if you haven’t checked out the InspiredToAction Podcast, I’d love to invite you to check it out. Click here to learn how to listen and to find all the latest episodes.

My daughter had fun recording the intro to each episode.

Now, I know a LOT of you are already tuning in to the podcast. We have over 53 five star reviews on iTunes (in fact, ALL the reviews are 5 star!) I so appreciate you’re support and encouragement and I am looking forward to churning out some crazy helpful content for you.

Also? I’d love to feature YOU on the podcast. I’ll be adding a Q & A section to each show. If you have question, just head over to this page and record your question. Be sure to include your first name and if you have a blog, feel free to include that too!

Next week’s topic is How to Maximize your Morning and Minimize the Madness. I know, I went a little crazy with the M’s. I may or may not keep that name, but the topic will be the same. So if you have any questions about making the most of your mornings, especially now that school has started, click here and leave your question!

5 Posts That Will Make You a Better Mom

Here are a few posts that made me a better mom this week. I love the wisdom and inspiration of others. Enjoy!

For Your Weekend – I love this weekend benediction from Emily. If you’re anything like me and you have a *slightly* hard time relaxing and letting go of the to do lists, this short little paragraph will cause you breath deep and see the beauty in rest.

When God Changes Your Plans {An Infertility Update}
Quite frankly, this is the bravest post I’ve ever read on all of the internet. Her assuredness of where God has her and where He is taking her inspires me to no end.

Be The Change
Here is a little fist bump for your day from Tsh. So good.

Does Your Child Consider You An Adversary or an Advocate
I’ve heard Sally Clarkson share this idea often and it hits me over the head every single time. I simply adore her sure and steady wisdom.

Are You A Blogger?

Finally, if you’re a blogger, I don’t want you to miss out on a Bootcamp I did this past week.

It’s called the Blog Planning Bootcamp (similar to the Meal Planning Bootcamp I did here awhile back). You can watch all the videos and read all the lessons on Facebook. I’ll probably leave them up there for another week or two.

And if you are interested in the Blog Planning Kit, today is the LAST day of the bootcamp 50% off sale. Just click here and use the coupon code BOOTCAMP.

  • I love your podcasts!! They are fabulous!! I actually found out about them (and your blog) via Simple Mom podcast/blog. Great stuff! 🙂

I would love to knkow what other podcasts you listen to and/or recommend. I’m always on the search for some good listens.

Kat, will you consider putting your blog planning bootcamp content onto your blog and leaving it available permanently as you’ve done with your meal planning bootcamp? It is something I’m interested in doing, but it’s not something I can get to right now. I’ve been feeling somewhat pressured since I read you aren’t planning on leaving it up on facebook! You never know when God will use one of your posts to inspire us to action! The meal planning didn’t even sound interesting to me when you first posted it, but now I am working it into my weekly plans. Same with waking early – I’m now on my first hello mornings challenge! Thank you for working faithfully on your content.

I can’t wait to hear more of your podcasts! You’re my favorite guest on The Simple Mom Podcast because you’re always so down-to-earth and you really speak to the struggles I have with mothering.

    Hi Kate,
I also would like suggestions of podcasts that you would recommend about Motherhood. I really like your style – about 20mins, not much “small talk”, friendly yet challenging.
Do you know of any other podcasts like that? Dishwashing is my favourite time to listen to podcasts too 🙂
    Thanks,
    Mareesa

Hi Mareesa! I too love Kat’s podcasts. I’m hoping she will do more with all her newfound “free time”. 🙂 Two others I love are focus on the family and Michael Hyattt. Not all of the focus on the family are about motherhood, but you can scroll through easily. Michael Hyatt blogs about leadership (Kat is the one who told me about him) but his principles are very applicable to motherhood. His podcasts about overcoming negative self-talk, re-engineering your morning routine, and developing a new habit have all been helpful to me.
