MomHeart Conference Ticket Giveaway!

By November 27, 2012General

I’ve written a lot about the importance of a yearly retreat for moms – the power of taking time to reset, refocus and get fresh vision.

The first couple of years that I took a retreat, I just did this in my hometown at a local hotel or bed and breakfast. But the last two years, I’ve attended a conference that my favorite motherhood author, Sally Clarkson, created for moms with that exact purpose in mind.

Here is what Sally has to say about the conference:

Motherhood is daunting. It is also delightful, fulfilling, and rewarding, but it can be daunting.

There are times in every mother’s life when the less-wonderful aspects of motherhood can begin to feel like a wet, heavy blanket of desperation draped over your spirit. That’s why Sarah Mae and I wrote Desperate: Hope for the Mom Who Needs to Breathe, which inspired this year’s Mom Heart Conference theme, “I Take Hope ~ Moving through Desperate to Destiny.”

You need to take hope in the promises and truths of God to make it through those inevitable wet blanket days. That’s why I want every mother to return home from this conference with a heart full of hope. Not just a passing feeling, but a lasting conviction that God is living and active in you and your children. The kind of hope that will move you from desperate to destiny.

It will be a weekend of refreshment, inspiration, encouragement, and fellowship you will not want to miss. Join us!

I can’t recommend this conference highly enough. Each year, I have left feeling so encouraged and inspired.

I’ll be speaking at the Dallas event, so if you happen to come to that one, I’d love to meet you!

My friends Sarah Mae and Ruth Schwenk will be speaking at some of the events as well, so in addition to Sally’s amazing wisdom and inspiration, you’ll get some great perspective from mom’s in the trenches like you.

A Quick Story

Honestly, I truly can’t say enough about Sally. She’s a wonderful writer and a great speaker, but it’s her heart that shines through all her words and makes them come alive. I’ve gotten to know her over the last couple of years and her desire to encourage moms runs so deep.

She has pulled together her amazing friends, who often travel with her, and as a team they have become a constant source of encouragement and inspiration to me (I’m looking at you Sandra) and so many others.

As an example, when I spoke at the Allume Blog conference last month, just before my session as the attendees were filtering in and chatting with one another, I was trying to figure out a technical issue. I was standing at the podium, working with the sound guy and checking things out on my computer.

I knew that Sandra, Cherie and Ruth had come up and were standing around me, but I was so focused on trying to figure something out I wasn’t really paying attention.

Then I heard, “Well, let’s go ahead and pray for her.” They put their hands encouragingly on my shoulders and prayed that my words would encourage, inspire and bring glory to God. Then as quickly as they came, they left. They had specifically come simply to encourage and pray for me.

Sally has some precious friends who all have a heart to encourage moms like us. I can’t tell you how much that simple act meant to me. And so many times Sally has done the same thing.

This is such an incredible group of women, I hope you’ll come and join us and be a part of all God is doing in and through the hearts of moms.
