Maximize Your Mornings Challenge Update

Group Information

This is just a quick update regarding the MYM Challenge. I will be sending out group information to the AC’s later today and I’ll send group information to ALL participants tomorrow.

Will You Pray?

Currently, there are over 1,700 women in 103 groups from all over the world participating. May I ask you to be praying for these women over the next few days? If you joined the challenge and you have particular concerns you’d like others to pray for, please feel free to share them in the comments.

A moment of honesty…I’m tired. It’s been quite a task from an administration standpoint. So many lovely women joining in so many different time zones equals lots of details in arranging groups. It would greatly bless me if you might say a prayer that I would be able to finish strong until everyone is settled in their groups. Many thanks to Michelle, Joyce, Kellye, Blair, Katie and Lara for all their help and hard work.

Overflow Rooms Coming Soon…

And if you missed the registration deadline for the Challenge, I’ll announce a few “Overflow Room” options on Thursday.

That’s all for now. Have an incredible Monday!

Comments

  1. Praying for you right now, Kat! Please let me know if there is ANYthing at all that I can do to help.

    Blessings,
    Melanie

  2. Thank you for all your hard work and those that agreed to be ACs. I will be praying for everyone and I am so grateful for this opportunity!

  3. Julie reynolds says:

Thank you for all you have done to strengthen the Body of Christ. It will be my honor to pray for you!

  4. Thank you so much for all that you do…it is so appreciated and you are blessing so many through this. Praying for you!

  5. Tiffany Brown says:

I will keep you in my prayers during this time and the rest of the Maximum your Morning team :~)

  6. I’m excited to start the challenge – I’ve been trying to do it on my own for the last month or so and am looking forward to being in a group with others but not sure quite what to expect. Could we pray that all of our children, husbands, dogs stay ASLEEP when it is time for us to get up? That is the one thing that has the most potential to derail me!

    • Praying with you! I have also been trying to do this on my own for the past few weeks and my children seem to somehow instinctively know I’m awake. They are getting up earlier and earlier!

      • Jennifer B. says:

I am totally with you ladies. I was up at 530 this morning and my daughter talked on and off to me from her crib for about 45 minutes. I don’t think that she was ever fully awake, but, as you both note, the kids just “sense” when I’m up!
I am so excited about this challenge; thanks so much to you, Kat, and anyone else working to get this organized for all of us. And Joyce, I have really appreciated your helpful comments over the past couple of weeks. Your answers to others’ questions have answered my questions as well – many thanks!

    • Jennifer, When I first started MYM, it was the same way…I woke up early, and they did too, so I woke up earlier, and so did they! What?! But I found that if I could just sit up in bed and do most of my God time and planning there, it got better.

      • my little guy gets up early every day so i made my checkin time 5am.. ugh.. its gonna be difficult i also tried a few days last week to “feel it out” and so i guess i get an hour to myself but it still doesnt feel long enough and its so hard to concentrate when he is up.. .one thing that i tried with my son is to encourage a “quiet time” so that he looks at books while i look at books.. but i still had to remind him about quiet time ever 15/20 min. and i also i like the idea kat suggested about putting a video on… i agree that we should definitely pray for this aspect of our mornings. i love getting up early, i just need to get to bed earlier..

  7. Thanks for all your hard work! Will be praying :)

  8. I would like to ask that everyone pray for my me and 13 year old son,who is becoming an adolescent as we speak. He is growing up, trying to push boundaries and figure out who he is in this world. He is just beginning to be defiant and it’s very scary. As a mom, I am at a loss for what to do, he has been an awesome kid up to this point. But we need prayer to help us, and support his growing up and my parenting through this time.

    • Nava, I don’t have sons or teenagers, so I have no advice to offer. Since he’s been an awesome kid up to this point, it sounds like it is a phase he’s going through. Hang in there, and keep on loving on him. Praying for you today.

  9. Thank you for organizing this. When I saw that you were doing this I thought, “Wow. That’s a really big job.” But thanks for taking it on anyway. I’m glad you had some support!

On a personal level, I’d like to ask for prayer for myself and my consistency in maximizing my mornings. I think it is more important than ever before in my life. I have three children, 3, 2, & 1 years old, AND we are all preparing to move overseas to be missionaries withing the next 6 months. “If ever I need thee, my Jesus ’tis NOW!” :)

Your website has helped me on an organizational and practical level that I desperately needed, and now I’m relying on Christ to help me on this humanly impossible spiritual level.

    • Kassie, Wow, that’s a huge move with 3 littles. I’ll keep you and your family in my prayers. Praying for your preparation and for a smooth adjustment period.

  10. Thank you so much for all your hard work! Praying for you and everyone else organizing and participating in the challenge!

  11. Praying! I’m starting to think 5:30 might be a better time for me (I picked 6), but I’m going to take a baby step and say 6 a.m. for now. I am SO ready for this!!

  12. Sweet Kat, I pray today brings some fresh rest and new mercies. You are precious and much appreciated. Love to you!

  13. praying:)

  14. I found this website about 3 weeks ago and felt like it spoke directly to me. I started the morning challenge and finally feel like I have direction in my life. Previously I felt like my life was one BIG DISTRACTION. I have twin almost 3 yr olds. I cannot describe to you the peace, focus and contentedness I feel daily. As a result, my children are happier and my marriage so much better. I had every excuse in the book not to wake up early and finally just bit the bullet. I am looking forward to starting the challenge with others on the 15th. I do have a question though. I signed up at 8:30 because that is when I can get to my computer, but I have been getting up at 5AM. Are others doing this? I find the computer a distraction 5AM, and that I do not need!!!! Thanks for getting this together. It has been a lifesaver!

    • Colleen, The groups are pretty flexible. You can check in before or after your morning routine. There were plenty of days when I would be finishing up and my kids would wake up, so I was unable to check in during the morning, but I eventually did some time during the day.

  15. Paula Sinclair says:

yes, you can pray for me :)
i’m dedicating this MYM to my SIL, who is going through a divorce and has 2 boys, her life is literally unraveling! the worst part is, she’s not clinging to the love of Christ, at least what i can see, and it’s heartwrenching to see her pain when it could be better if she would just drop to her knees and cry to Jesus. i’ve always wanted to do MYM, but have been too lazy since i am the QUEEN of sleeping in and my youngest son is currently my alarm clock, and i hate that! so, i figure if i dedicate the MYM to someone i love that will keep me more focused & determined to do the MYM, thanks!

  16. I am so relieved to know that others share the problem of LOs who wake up right behind you. I have a 2 yo who co-sleeps and still nurses, I adore our closeness and wouldn’t have it any other way but 5 minutes after I get up she is up with that “Aren’t you thrilled to see me?” smile. Makes it so tempting to just snuggle in for another hour or two. Would appreciate others ideas on how to make this work for me.

  17. I am a “night owl” so I’m finding it difficult to go to bed just 1 hour earlier for my 6:00 wake up time. I know I need this boost to my morning devotion time and I need to exercise ( this I am dreading ).
My main prayer concern is that I feel like I’m setting myself up for failure from the beginning.

    • Michelle, I would suggest taking baby steps. I adjusted my bedtime 5 minutes earlier every week, during the last challenge. Even 15 minutes would have been too much for me. And the exercise time? Like Kat, mornings are not my main exercise times. I love her idea of doing a few things (situps, pushups, squats) just to get more awake. I did my workout during the afternoons or in the evening. And also, I do a bulk of my planning on Saturdays, so the only thing I really did planning-wise during the morning is take a look at my to-do list and check my email and other accounts. This is what worked for me. Taking it slow at the beginning and rejoicing in the successes helped me a lot to keep going, instead of trying to make a huge transformation and become disappointed when I missed a few days. Hope this helps.

  18. My mornings really need to be maximized!! I would LOVE to join an overflow group, if they are available! If not, when is the next session?

  19. Hello,

I stumbled across your E-book “Maximizing Your Mornings” through the “Passionate Homemaking” blog I regularly read. I see that you mentioned you will be releasing overflow rooms. With so many women joining this challenge, are you still planning on this?

Thank you for your time :)

  20. Hi, I hate to be a bother but I signed up but never got an email about the group.

  21. Thank you so much for putting this together. I am sure it is a huge amount of work. It is changing my life already and you were a God send for me because I really struggle with mornings. In addition I am moving out of state with little to no help because my husband has a broken foot. So, I really need a jump start and this is amazing! I am sitting in my driveway and just got done reading the daily passage and said a prayer for my group. I feel 100 times better about my day already. I will say a prayer everyday along with my group prayer. God Bless and have an amazing day! :-)
