Hello Mornings! {Winter ’11} Week 3

By February 11, 2011Create A Morning Routine

The following post is from Michelle of So, I married a Mennonite…

The other day, I came across the perfect encouragement for maximizing our mornings:

Trust Me enough to spend ample time with Me, pushing back the demands of the day. Refuse to feel guilty about something that is so pleasing to Me, the King of the universe. Because I am omnipotent, I am able to bend time and events in your favor. You will find that you can accomplish more in less time, after you have given yourself to Me in rich communion. ~Jesus Calling

We had such a great response to the Twitter Accountability Groups, we had cap them off for this session. If you @ mentioned me about being in a group, you’re in. Thanks for your patience while we sort through this for the first time.

You can see the groups at the Hello Mornings! page. (Will be updated soon!)

If you are not in an Accountability Group, you can still jump into the #hellomornings stream each morning. You’ll get to know people and enjoy the encouragement that goes on there.

You can also comment on the Inspired to Action Facebook thread each morning.

How is your morning routine going so far?

Michelle loves Jesus, coffee and her 2 man-children, ages 4 & 2. She married a Mennonite without realizing everything that entailed.

Now she writes and tweets from Amish country- and wouldn’t have it any other way.

I’ve been waking up early for quiet time for a while now, but it helps to know that you all are doing it too! It is that extra bit of motivation that helps me get out of bed at o’dark thirty. Also, I’m really enjoying the prayer calendars you provide. That adds another nice layer to my morning prayers. Thank you!

Love that “encourgament” section. Great to read…something I’ve known, but still struggle with!
I’m getting up a tad earlier to at least read/pray for a few minutes b/f starting the day! It’s a start!

I am loving your site.  I started getting up at 5:30 about 56 weeks before Christmas in an attempt to finish the overhaul of my twin daughters bedroom.  The newly done  room was their gift from me.  Plaster, new baseboards, moldings and new built in desks for two, paint and lighting.  Most of which I had never done before.  I PRAYED,  Everyday to have the time I needed, to be able to crawl out of bed and start sanding before the rest of the world was awake.  And it worked.  He gave me the time and knowledge to get the job done.

“Because I am omnipotent, I am able to bend time and events in your favor”
I found this particularly true, whe one day, about 4/5 days before christmas, I had many errands to run, grocery shopping, last minutes gifts to pick up, and supplies to get to finish up my project…. I was stunned, amazed, grateful, and feeling completely blessed that at my most frantic time, I was able to stop at 7 different stores, get all my errands done and get back home in  under 2 hrs.   I know that God was helping to bend time for me.  It s the only explanation.  I have learned by this experience, that why I pray, I to thank God but also ask for my very specific needs, and he will answer.

Sorry for the long comment, it just struck a chord.

It was still a rough week, but we’re getting there. I am loving checking in each morning on FB….to know that I am not alone and for an encouraging word.
