Inspiring Quote from Sally Clarkson

The Hands of Mother

“Children do not accidentally become righteous leaders or emotionally healthy and productive adults – any more than seeds thrown randomly to the wind grow to be part of a thriving garden.

Someone needs to take responsibility for their nurture, protection, nourishment, intellectual development, manners, recreation, personal needs, and spiritual development. Someone needs to commit time and energy into staying close to them as they grow, encouraging and correcting and teaching.”
- Sally Clarkson

Isn’t it interesting how the most simple and obvious statements can be so profoundly inspiring?

Thank you for the quote! That is exactly what I needed this morning. The day started out rather rough (baby not wanting to stop crying, dropping half a dozen eggs on the floor, 3 year old throwing tantrums, 2 year old eating things that she is NOT supposed to, etc.) But, I needed to be reminded that God has put me here to be the one who nutures them, corrects them, encourages them, and teaches them. Thanks again!
