Positive Parenting Solutions and Christa Wells Giveaways Extended

Late this week I had a couple people mention that they had problems commenting on last week’s giveaway. Apparently, I didn’t add the links correctly in the post. Ack!!

Since, I know there were probably a lot more who also had a problem commenting, I’m leaving the giveaway for the Positive Parenting Solutions Course and the Christa Wells CD’s open for another week.

You can comment here on today’s post with your action and you’ll be entered in the giveaway. Even if you commented last week, feel free to enter again today.

Get all the details at the end of the post.

A Video About Pajama Runs

I know I’m always curious to hear what bloggers sound like, so I thought I’d share this with you…. I did a short 2 minute segment on our local news talking about something our family calls a “Pajama Run”. I was pretty nervous so be warned that there is excessive hand movement and random nerve induced word choices.

And with that wonderful intro, here you go: (The video may take a minute to load. Click here to watch it on the KWTX page, if you have trouble.)

Motivation Monday Details

For those of you who are new, here’s how Motivation Monday works:
Anyone who takes some sort of action can enter to win. Your action might be:

  • getting up early, reading your Bible
  • going on a date with your kids
  • creating a mission statement
  • exercising
  • creating a meal plan
  • Writing a goal

It can be any action that improves who you are as a believer or a mother.

How To Enter

To enter the giveaway, you would do one (or all) of these:
1. Leave a comment and say, “I took action this week!”
2. Leave another comment telling us what action you took.
3. Follow @Inspired2Action on Twitter or Facebook and tell us there about the action you took.
4. Blog about your action and share the link below.

Note: I think it would be fun to see all your lovely faces more, so I’m trying out this link script that can include your picture. Ò˜º

Action Begets Action

Why do I want you to Twitter, Facebook, Blog or Comment about the actions you taken in the past couple of weeks? …because action begets action. The things you’ve done WILL inspire others. And, well, that’s kind of what this blog is all about.

I don’t think you looked nervous either πŸ™‚

Can’t wait till my little one is big enough to do this. She’s 15 months…probably a little too early for her to have any idea what’s going on!

My action this week…I took a new dance class at the Y!

  • Katy says:

Hi Kat! I am a new stay-at-home mom and loving it, but I was in search of the best way to organize our home life and this new exciting job of mine.
After reading your blog for about a week now (including tons of archives), I’m all set and ready to go at 5:30 tomorrow morning! My chair is waiting with my bible, study plan, and clipboard nearby where I’ve printed off a weekly organizer (adapted from yours, with a couple changes specific to our family), and a couple other charts and lists.
I am already feeling so great about the new-found organization and the time that it’s freeing up to fit in other things.
Thanks so much for all your great information!
    -Katy

  • I took action this week! I started the 30 Day Shred. I’ve gained almost 30 pounds this year and it’s making me grumpy. So to get less grumpy, I’m working on getting rid of that muffin-top. And love handles. And saddlebags. And…well, you get the point.

  • Michelle says:

Hey Kat, you did great! I have to confess, before I talked to you, I imagined you to have a raspy, tough sounding voice! Anyway, very nice- I just love that idea. πŸ™‚

  • Dara says:

I planned to wake up at 5.30 to start doing my Maximize mornings plan. But couldn’t get up from the bed so I just stayed there and prayed for about 10 minutes that God will give me strength. He did. I got up at 5.50 and had my quite time, prayed, and planned, didn’t exercise yet. But I am encouraged.

  • Renee says:

    I took action this week!

After listening to an awesome sermon at my church yesterday, I realized that when it comes to my relationship with my husband, I’m pretty good at the big stuff but I super-suck at the little stuff. So, I got up early today to see him off to work. I’ve NEVER done this, so he was a little bewildered, but I think he really liked it!

  • Sarah C says:

I’d been wanting to have an intentional mentoring relationship (Titus 2) with an older woman in our church, and had her picked out, but was really hesitant to ask her (what if she thinks I’m a dork? What if she finds out how screwed up I am?!?). But I did, and she was surprised, but said “yes”.

    Whew.

  • Jane says:

I was getting up early & really enjoying it. I fell off the wagon & my mornings have been disasters. Which I guess is good since it is making me realize that I need to get up – spend time with God, with me & get organized before I have to deal with the kids!

I’m going to bed early tonight!

  • Jane says:

I forgot to mention that we did the pajama run while I was visiting my sister. My brother-in-law thought my sister & I were crazy – but the kids loved it.

We had a fun summer – using a lot of your ideas. Thanks!

I made a two-week menu plan. I’ll admit, I’m not always so good at sticking with it, but at least I know what my choices are for what I have in the house to make for dinner.

By the way, I just recently found your blog, and I am loving it! I’ve made myself some little goals to get started on, like doing dishes daily, making the beds daily, and sweeping my floors daily. So far, I’m pretty good at sticking with it. It definitely helps to hear the stories of how others are taking action. Thank you!

I took action this week and started prayers before bed with our two year old. He is young, and we had been praying FOR him every night, but now is a good time for him to join in. I want to encourage him to come before the Lord each and every day and to know that warm rush of love that comes when we come before the Lord. Last night, he asked to pray again! It was so heart warming!

Friday night I *finally* purchased our “family organizer”, aka the white board. It’s split up into 8 columns – days of the week + grocery list – and everything goes on it via color-coded markers for each members. We hung it in the dining room and so far it’s working!

    (ps: love the video!)

  • Tiff says:

I took action this week…despite waking up ontime, but…uh… out of it, I still pushed through in prayer and then prayed with each of my kiddo’s to start their days focused on Him. It was a treasured time for each of us, and I think it helped to set their day “right” as well! God is good like that! πŸ™‚
