There is ALL kinds of excitement coming your way, so be sure to read this whole post and stay tuned this week.
Today is Motivation Monday! Tell us in the comments if you’ve taken action and get a chance to win today’s giveaways. Yes, giveaways!
There are two amazing prizes you could win.
Get all the details at the end of the post and find out who won last week’s prize.
Prize #1: Positive Parenting Solutions
When you share your action today, you’ll be entered to win a FREE one year registration for the Positive Parenting Course by Amy McCready. She’s been featured on the Today show, Fox news and many other media outlets. I’m in the process of taking her course and have learned SO much.
This giveaway is worth $200!
I found Amy’s site several months ago and learned a lot just from the first course. I thought you might too, so I contacted her about participating in a giveaway and she agreed! I am so excited about this. We also have something special planned for you later this month.
Update: I just learned that Amy will be on the Rachael Ray show this morning (9/13)and on the Today show Thursday morning (9/16).
Positive Parenting Solutions is a multimedia course that you can take from the comfort of your own home whenever it is convenient for you. Amy McCready shares her wealth of wisdom via video, pdf’s, articles, emails and interactive tools that will give you insight into your parenting style and the needs of your children.
I’ve only finished two parts of the class and I already feel SO much more focused and equipped as a mother. I feel that, too often I become a reactionary mom instead of a revolutionary one. I respond to the things my children do wrong, instead of actively training them to make good choices. Then, my frustration arises simply because I don’t know what to do. Amy’s class has helped add to the tools I use to deal with the more challenging moments of motherhood.
Mom-iversity Schedule
Don’t forget that this week we’re discussing the idea of a Mom-iversity. If you’ve ever wish you’d been able to have a PHD in “Motherhood,” this series is for you.
Honestly, I am completely blown away by y’all’s (I’m from Texas, remember. ๐ response to the Mom-iversity idea. I can’t wait to learn with all of you!
Here’s the schedule for the week:
Tuesday – My brilliant friend Christa Wells will be sharing her thoughts on wisdom and bringing some inspiration your way.
Wednesday – I’ll share some tools and practical tips on creating your own Mom-iversity course.
Thursday – Free form. I know, get excited, right? Who doesn’t love forms? Thursday, we’ll each create a “syllabus” of the things we’d want to learn and develop a simple plan to reach those goals.
Prize #2: Christa Wells CD
I talk endlessly to my friends and family about my favorite musicians. I thought, “Why should it be any different on the blog?”
Here’s a song Christa wrote for her kids that melts me every time I hear it.

I took my daughter on a mommy-daughter-grandma date this weekend. She had sooo much fun. It was nice to be able to enjoy our time together! Yesterday we had a big family day together. Our family went to the river all day….played, ate lunch, had so much fun! No computers, no phones. Just a camera to capture the memories. It was wonderful!! : )
I love Mondays now!! Everyday (Monday-Saturday) I wake up at 6, go for a run, and then read my bible. Now on Mondays I email back and forth with a few friends who are new to the bible. As busy moms we couldn’t find a time to get together each week, so Monday mornings I read a chapter of the bible and we discuss it through emails. It’s such an awesome way to start the week. Thanks for your inspiration!

I’ve been setting time aside every day or two to spend concentrated time with my 2 year old. To do something that delights him while having focused time with me (or rather me focusing on having focused time with him…which is harder). That qualifies for a date, doesn’t it? ๐

I got up early to read my Bible and pray. I’ve been successfully making a weekly meal plan for about 6 weeks now (and have learned about 7 or 8 new recipes in the process). And I joined a group at my church that focuses on ministry to orphans.
Another thing I’d like to say is that I’m also (still) reading a really great parenting book “Good and Angry”. Started it with a mom’s group I’m involved with. Still digesting it though. . . really great information in there!

When I’m home with my son on the weekends all I want to do is spend time with him… but not getting my daily exercise in makes me crazy too. This weekend I packed him up in his bike trailer and we rode to the elementary school playground every day. I got my exercise (riding 10 miles round trip in the WY wind pulling 75 lbs of kid and trailer isn’t easy ๐ ), and we both got to play at the park (which he loves)! He’s 21 months old and already insists on going down the tallest slides by himself. So independent!
