New Things: Mission Statement eWorkbook and More

By July 17, 2010General

This has been a ridiculously exciting week. All kinds of fun things have been happening behind the scenes. Some I can tell you about and some will have to wait…

Speaking in Denver

I’m super excited to tell you I’ll be speaking at a moms event at Denver First Church in…wait for it… Denver (shocking, I know) the first week in September. If you live in….Denver….stay tuned, I’d love it if you stopped by to visit. Details to come…

Mission Statement eBook

Also, based on the incredible response to the Motherhood and Identity Series, I thought it might be helpful to turn some of the posts on creating mission statements into a simple, but super practical and printable ebook. So that’s what I’ve been working on this week and hopefully it will be ready for you next week.

Another bit of excitement was when Ann Voskamp linked to Inspired To Action. If you read my list of recommended reads last Saturday, you’ll know that I’m totally in like with Ann’s AMAZING writing skills. It was just a little link in her sidebar…but it was nearly as cool as if Amy Grant came and played guitar with me. Nearly.

Speaking of my crazy love for music…the other day Christa Wells commented on this post. Being that I’m the sort of person who reads CD liner notes (lyrics, song credits, musicians etc.) even before I listen to the music, the name Christa Wells rang a bell. The brilliant songwriter bell. She wrote Natalie Grant’s mesmerizing song Held. I LOVE that song.

Sure enough, the comment was from THAT Christa. It’s been a burst into Jimmy’s office kind of week.

I’ve since downloaded Christa’s album, which is just lyrically and musically brilliant and creative. Very Brooke Fraser-esque. You can get a few of her songs free (in exchange for a social media shout out) here. Or just buy her album here.

And if you’ve never heard the song Held, here you go, but don’t say I didn’t warn you that it’s a 3 hanky song.

Beautiful Things Ahead

And something I’ve been thinking about lately…

You are deeply and thoroughly loved by God. He has amazing plans for you. Now. Today.

The purposes He planted for you at the very beginning of time and His omnipotent power are not dependent on your circumstances, skill set or resources. He just wants your heart. Again. Today.

Our failures and mistakes are NOT our definition. They are simply part of our journey. Press on, my friends. There are beautiful things ahead.
