A Great Quote On Comparison

We’ll be talking about Motherhood, Identity and Comparison this week, so I’ve been mulling over this quote that Nikki shared on this post:

He who trims himself to suit everyone will soon whittle himself away.

Motivation Monday Details

For those of you who are new, here’s how Motivation Monday works:
Anyone who takes some sort of action can enter to win. Your action might be:

  • getting up early, reading your Bible
  • going on a date with your kids
  • creating a mission statement
  • exercising
  • creating a meal plan
  • Writing a goal

It can be any action that improves who you are as a believer or a mother.

How To Enter

To enter the giveaway, you would do one (or all) of these:
1. Leave a comment and say, “I took action this week!”
2. Leave another comment telling us what action you took.
3. Follow @Inspired2Action on Twitter or Facebook and tell us there about the action you took.
4. Blog about your action and share the link below.

Last Week’s Winner
According to Random.org, last week’s winner of the JJ Heller album (which is perfectly brilliant) is Emily! Congratulations!

Action Begets Action

Why do I want you to Twitter, Facebook, Blog or Comment about the actions you taken in the past couple of weeks? …because action begets action. The things you’ve done WILL inspire others. And, well, that’s kind of what this blog is all about.

My son has many allergies. In and effort to be the best mom possible, this week I made two batches of ice cream made from coconut milk and plan to try some other recipes that are allergy -free-fun-food so that he can have treats. I also convinced my husband to spend some time making jam with me as most store jams have coloring in them that the son is allergic too.

I exercised three days. I also took a mommy retreat Saturday morning, where God really challenged me to live in the PRESENT – not the past, or the future. SOOO hard to live in the right now – especially when trying to “get things done.”

I decided I need to limit the time I spend online and be more intentional about the time I do allow myself to be plugged in. My goal is to use the time I spend online to enrich my real life, to grow in my walk with the Lord, and to build relationships online and off. I am working on the plan for turning the goal into action.

Thank your for your fantastic website!

    I took action today!

I took action by limiting the amount of time i spend online. I am a totally internet addicted. There is a wealth of information out there that is good, but like everything it has to be in moderation. So I am currently working on a plan that allows me to spend more time with my family, and less time on this computer.

I started up a monthly chore list for my hubby and I. We were always confused and forgetful about what needs to be done, when, when was the last time we did it… and it would often turn out that the vacuum hasn’t been done in a month, the lawn hasn’t been mowed in 2 months, did anyone water the garden today? Feed the fish? Yuck, that shower is disgusting, when is the last time you washed it? I don’t remember…

Yea. ๐Ÿ™‚ So now I have chores that need to be done, in Daily, Weekly, Bi-Monthly and Monthly columns, and assigned to each of us. He washes the showers and the toilets; I do the laundry. I’ll feed the fish and water the garden, he waters the plants. I have little checkboxes on the side (7 for weekly tasks, 2 for bi-monthly tasks) and I will laminate the final version, so we can re-use it every week with a non-permanent marker.

I gave it to hubby to look over and tell me if I forgot anything, if he thinks anything should be re-arranged. Now we won’t forget ๐Ÿ˜›

I have been “wanting” to be more diligent in child training and in making our home a home of “order” and somewhat cleanliness, yet i never got around to making a plan for how to make it all happen. well, this week I am making that plan! I love your site and was very inspired by the ebook maximize your mornings—thank you so much!!
