Join the Inspired to Action Community

Many moms don’t have a support network they can rely on as they strive to grow and raise amazing kids. And even those who do, find it difficult to coordinate schedules to get together.

I’ve read your blogs, I’ve received your emails and been so encouraged by your comments. You are all incredibly encouraging and inspiring. So, I thought it only makes sense to figure out ways to get us all a little more connected so that we can spur one another on.

Join The Community

Community Page – I’ve added a Community page where I’ve list all the ways we can connect. I’m also adding a list of all of your blogs so that we can easily find one another. A community of inspired moms.

1. Inspired To Action Facebook Page – I’ve set up a Facebook page where you can start discussions, ask questions and encourage one another. Join us!

2. Motivation Mondays – I hope you’ve been enjoying Motivation Mondays. Starting next week, I’ll add a little link-thinga-muh-jiggy to the post so that you all can share your inspiration (story of how you took action this week) or an action (a practical post that will help us be better moms) on your blog and we can all stop by, say hi and be encouraged.

I hope you’ll join in.

4. Twitter – If you have a Twitter account, you can follow Inspired2Action and get all the latest updates. Let’s use the hashtag #inspiredmoms when we’re writing something that might inspire others or when you have a question one of the other moms might be able to answer.

5. Your Stories – I’d like to start a regular series highlighting you’re stories of action or inspiration. If you’ve started a new habit or if you’ve overcome an old one. If you’ve developed a mission statement or accomplished a goal, please share it with me and I’ll try to share it in an upcoming post.

(FYI – many of you have emailed me you’re stories already, but I’d love it if you’d use this form to submit it again. It would totally help my organization. Thanks!)

You’re story doesn’t need to be huge. In fact, one of my favorite stories is how Kait spent an entire week just setting her alarm and standing up in the morning. Then she let herself go back to bed. I LOVE simple goals. Now she’s developing her routine and is on a roll. Isn’t that awesome?

Action begets action. We want to hear YOUR story!

Action step:
1. Join us on Facebook.
2. Share your actions and inspirations on Twitter.
3. If you have a blog, please post it in the comments on the Community Page. I’ll organize them all on the page soon.
4. Use the Contact page to tell me you’re story. Be sure to include your blog address, if you have one, and I’ll feature these stories in upcoming blog posts.

Quick Introductions

It’s been awhile since we’ve introduced ourselves and there are lots of new folks here.

My name is Amy. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have been wife to Jeff for nearly 15 years now and am mom to a girl, 10, and a boy, 5. I have been an elementary school teacher for 13 years and have taught K, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th in both public and private schools.Currently I am teaching 5th grade at the Christian school where my daughter is in 4th grade.

I’m Kelli, married for 4 years and mommy to an almost 2 year old and a 6 week-old boys. I stay home with them and dabble in photography in my spare time.

Looking forward to getting to know you ladies better. Thanks, Kat!

  • Mandi says:

Hi. My name is Mandi, I live in Arizona (yes, it is hot where I am). I am currently a stay-at-home mom who babysits and substitute teaches a little bit “on the side.”

  • Ashley says:

I’m Ashley – mother of 3yo Jenny and 1.5yo David, wife to “J” for 5 years (next month). I’m home with the kids fulltime, am going back to school for my Master of Arts (Ministry), homeschool my oldest, and am very active at my church.
I struggle with making STATED priorities ACTUAL priorities. I’m working on one habit at a time, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to mold me into a more Christlike person. So far, I’ve tackled “getting up” (though I’m currently struggling with this again), and this week’s focus has been “cleaning” – doing one cleaning task each morning BEFORE turning on the computer!

I meant to add that I live in Dallas!

  • Anna says:

My name is Anna, and I live in Impfondo, Republic of Congo with my husband and 3 kids- ages 4, 6, & 10. My husband works at a mission hospital here and I homeschool the kids and help out where I can. I’m taking Lingala lessons and trying to improve my very limited French.
My blog is “Montana Wegners” b/c we lived in Montana at the time I started it. Even though we moved to Quebec for language school and then came here, I left the name the same. We still feel very connected to Montana. (We lived there for 4 years, have lots of friends there.)

    • MaryBeth says:

      Hi Anna,
I saw your info here and had to reply directly to you. My name is MaryBeth and I live in Georgia where I spend my days caring for my four girls ages 5, 3, 3, and 3. My great friend Joan is also in Impfondo and from reading through your blog I believe that she is working at the same hospital as your husband. I just thought it was very cool that I saw your post on here and my girls and I have been praying for Joan and all the people she is working with… long story short, you and your family have been in our prayers even though we didn’t know you by name!

  • Debby says:

I’m Debby. I have been a college cross country coach for the past 5 years but a recent move from the mountains of north GA to the FL panhandle has enabled me to be a stay at home mama to our little girls, 3 and 1. So while my husband is loving a new job, I am loving being a stay at home mom as we settle in and adjust to life in Florida.

  • Kristi says:

I’m Kristi and I live in central Ohio. I have been married to my wonderful husband Jason for 4 years. We have a 2 and 1/2 year old Max and 1 year old Jake. (and baby 3 is due in October!!!!). • Bethany says:

My name is Bethany and I live with my family in Iowa. I only just found your site a few days back. I have four kids, 26, 15, 13, and 11. I homeschool the three youngest. A number of years back I would get up at 6:00am to pray and read the bible. I did that for a whole year. Then something happened and I got out of the habit. I have been trying to get back to it recently. Your encouragement has given me a push to get going again. Thanks.

  • Ashley F says:

My name is Ashley. I live in Montana, but Texas is home (we’ve been here a year). I am a SAHM to 5 beautiful kiddos- 3 girls age 11, 6 and 4 and 2 boys ages 2 and 3 months. I just happened upon your site and I am really enjoying it. Thanks for the info.

  • Meagan says:

My name is Meagan. I live in West Texas, but grew up in Washington state…it’s just a little bit different here! ๐Ÿ™‚ My wonderful husband, David, and I have been married for 13 fabulous years. We have three great kiddos–a boy (10), and two girls (7, 5) and I am so blessed to be able to stay home. I found your site a couple weeks ago and have been so challenged. For the past week and a half or so I have jumped right out of bed at 6:00am to read my Bible and pray. What a difference it has made! Thanks, Kat, for starting this little community and for being such an encouragement. I look forward to getting to know you all!

  • Jeanine says:

My name is Jeanine, and I’m a stay-at-home mom from Atlanta. I have 2 boys and a girl, ages 6, 4, and 1. I’ve desperately needed to get my spiritual life in check, especially since my 3rd child, and I was so happy to have found this blog! Letting Christ work through me as a mom is the only way I know I’ll be “good” at my job, and that’s what I’m working on right now. Having a mission statement (with prioritization of roles) and getting up early to spend time with God before my kids wake up are both such practical applications that I’m working to incorporate into my life. I’m looking forward to getting to know you all!

  • Taylor says:

My name is Taylor and we live as “m’s” in Sarajevo, Bosnia working with “CCC” here known as Svaki Student, working with college students here. Our “home base” is in Atlanta, where we will go this summer for a visit and to raise support. My husband and I are parents to 2 children: ages almost 4 and 2 1/2. Thank you for putting up this blog! Here it’s easy to feel isolated as a mom trying to walk with Christ. I’m trying to work waking up early back into my schedule. Since being sick, it’s hard to start the habit again! But I so enjoyed the time!
If you will please pray for my friend’s 5 yo daughter, Anne. She’s in a med. induced coma after a bad car accident. For info and updates; http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/annejackson
    Thanks!

  • Andrea says:

My name is Andrea and I live in Wisconsin. I have been married 6 years and have had four kids. (ages 1,3,4,5) I am also 3 months pregnant with baby #5.
I do home school preschool with all of my kids, but my oldest will be attending a charter school in the fall. I LOVE BEING A FULL TIME MOM!!
I am already a huge goal setter, but there are so many things I would still like to do, so the modivation would be GREAT!
I am currently working on going to bed earlier since I am a bit of an early riser.
I also used to be a clogging teacher when I was 13. I would LOVE to set goals to get back into teaching again.
And last but not least, I would like to finish schooling. (in Nursing) Having kids has put that on hold…………and may stay that way for a little longer. ๐Ÿ™‚

I love this blog and hope to get to know you all better. Kat, you are amazing!

    P.S. I don’t do facebook……….is that a problem?

  • Rachel says:

    Hi
I’m Rachel. I’m 32, from Cornwall, England. I have two boys aged 6 and 3 and I’ve been married to Karl for 8 and a half years. I’m trained as a Speech Therapist but I don’t work currently (apart from bringing up two children and managing a household!) I’ve found this website VERY inspiring and encouraging, and I’m currently working on my mission statement (in short five-minute bursts when I have the time!). I’m working up to going through the ebook about maximising my mornings! This will be a challenge as I’m a monster in the mornings! But I know that needs to change as there are days when I can’t move for laundry and dishes! OOps!

    Great work Kat!
Looking forward to connecting with you guys some more.
Ps. I’m also trying to lose weight, hence the blog!

So glad I found this community

  • Amanda says:

Hi I’m Amanda and I live in Gainesville, FL with my husband and 9 month old daughter. I used to be a high school guidance counselor, but took this year for maternity leave. However, it seems I’m going to start being a full time stay at home mama and not return to work next year. I so glad to be with my little girl, but used to LOVE my job and am feeling some sadness about not going back. I love this site. It’s really helped me schedule my days and not go crazy during my hours of non-adult contact :o)

  • Karen says:

I’ve totally lost it. I submitted my introduction on your Contact page. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m Karen. We’re from Florida, but serving overseas in Ukraine. Besides being in ministry, I home school my two teens, and take care of my home and family.

Just have to say, I really enjoy your blog. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Sarah says:

hi. i’m sarah. i live in san angelo, texas. i’m a 6th grade english teacher, a pastor’s wife (landon, married 5 years), and a mama (ellie, 3; grayson, 1.5). i adore this blog. i have always been WAY more productive in the morning; i can get more done from 5 a.m. to noon than the rest of the day combined. i’ve always thought of getting up that early as what i do in emergencies, though, when everything is out of control and chaotic. because of this blog, i’ve started to work on making it a habit (NBA playoff games that end after midnight are not helping!) and thinking of it as a way to AVOID chaos. the mornings that i have gotten up, i have been so much calmer, so much more sensitive to the Holy Spirit, and my day has run so much smoother. i have also been thinking lots about a mission statement, and i need to carve out time to work on one. oh! i also love the retreat ideas! genius! OK. i’m done. i am a long-winded commenter, too. clearly.
.-= Sarah´s last blog ..hello, denim leggings. i love you. (and my fashion shopping list.) =-.

  • Karin says:

My name is Karin and I live in Minnesota. I am a SAHM with two boys, 5 and 3. I, too, get my best work done before noon and am moving my sleep times so that I have more morning! My husband has been out of work for 8 months, and I figured that we would have all sort of time together and to get things done during this time … but no! Getting myself “back together” and organized and focused is helping all of us right now while we wait to see what God has planned for us. Thanks for the help to make that happen.
