New Weekly Giveaway

Update: This giveaway is closed. Click here to see our current giveaway.

I have some EXCITING news! Each Monday, we’ll hold a giveaway here at Inspired To Action. I thought it would be fun to give you a little extra incentive to act on the things that we’ve been discussing.

Anyone who takes some sort of action can enter to win. Your action might be:

  • getting up early, reading your Bible
  • going on a date with your kids
  • creating a mission statement
  • exercising
  • creating a meal plan
  • Writing a goal

It can be any action that improves who you are as a believer or a mother.

The inaugural giveaway is from one of my FAVORITE artists. The Robbie Seay Band is in frequent rotation in my house. In fact, a friend and I just went to their concert last week. Amazing.

Gorgeous music, gorgeous lyrics.

Get all the contest details at the end of this post.

Why Moms Need Goals

This week we’re talking about the importance of goals and how they can compliment those mission statements we discussed a couple weeks ago.

Having a mission statement can help us make sure we’re headed in the right direction, but if we really want to be effective in our roles, we must set goals. For ourselves and for our children.

A mission statement is like picking a vacation spot. And our goals are like the road map to get there. I could decide I want to go to Tahoe on my 2 week vacation, but unless I map my route, I’ll never arrive. It will remain a dream and never become a reality.

Raising children isn’t just about feeding them and keeping them alive. It’s about training them and helping them set goals and succeed. Success requires vision. And vision doesn’t become a reality without a plan.

Without goals we waste so much energy and time running after things that don’t matter.

Action Step

This week we will discuss goal setting. If you haven’t created a mission statement then I encourage you to develop a draft today so that you can join us in setting goals this week.

3 Ways To Enter The Robbie Seay Band Giveaway

Today’s winner will get an entire prize pack that includes a CD, Vinyl record (how cool is that) and a tshirt.

To enter the giveaway just leave a comment and say, “I took action this week!”

You can also:
- Get 2 entries by leaving another comment telling us what action you took.
- Get 3 entries by leaving one more comment and telling us you told your social media friends about the action you took (blog/twitter/facebook etc) .

Have Fun!

I hope you all will enjoy these Monday Motivation giveaways. Now go take action!

Listen and enjoy:

I create menu plans once a month which saves me a lot of time and money. I also have been working on getting up earlier- which has been hard with a teething, sick baby.

I finally completed this month’s meal plan and read the first day’s scriptures for reading the entire Bible in 90 days (I’m sure I won’t hit it every day and it will take longer than 90 days, but the goal is still motivating!) I hope to exercise this afternoon during naptime… we’ll see about that one. :)

My sister and I both created a meal plan that involved 5 different Pampered Chef recipes we’ve never cooked before! It was a lot of work to plan, but really fun to experiment and do! (I’m 5 days away from my due date and it has kept my mind off of waiting for the baby to arrive!) :-)

My sister and I both “blogged” about it and our outcomes on facebook. Week #2 of the recipes starts soon and everyone is excited to see our pics and hear about our results!

I got up earlier than the rest of my family today to have a quiet time. Sadly, it’s the first time in years I’ve had anything close to consistency in that time… but I’m thrilled that it’s finally happening. And as a direct result of finding your blog about two weeks ago. THANK YOU! And thank you Jesus for being so patient and forgiving and gracious.

TWO – Got back to the exercise first, quiet time, get day going, THEN I’m allowing myself to check email and such.

I am getting way more done around the house and getting to bed much earlier now:-)

I printed out a “read the whole Bible in three years” plan on Good Friday. I’m aiming for the low goal of just reading a chapter each day. I’m feeling very excited and really looking forward to reading my Bible now that I have a reading plan, instead of overwhelmed not knowing where to start.

I set a loud second alarm clock on my husband’s side of the bed and I have actually been getting up early!!! Yay, finally some VICTORY! Previously I only set my cell phone alarm and I would just pull it in bed with me and keep hitting the snooze while it was under the covers. Setting the second alarm was a big step for me. My husband has been gone a lot with work but we had a great conversation the other day about not waiting around for the “desire” to come but to just go after it. God is good and little by little things are taking a healthy shape. PRAISE THE LORD!

Hi Kat!
I’m taking action this week by hanging out with my kids who are on spring break. Which means I am not on the computer blogging, etc. like I usually am. Instead, I’m reading with my kids, and playing with them and taking them to lunch. :)
It’s good for me. For them too.

Just found your website…..it’s been a wonderful inspiration to me. I created my mission statement this week, and have been getting up earlier, much earlier to read and pray, and spend a few min with my husband before he goes to work. Still struggling with the early part, but at least I am getting somewhere.

I took action by creating my personal mission statement. I also started planning my monthly menu and created a household managment notebook and prayer journal! Whoo-Hoo….

My Life Mission Statement:
To live a life of purpose and meaning everyday through guidance from the Lord above.
To love my husband passionatly and to not only be his wife but also his best friend.
To be a postive romodel in my daughters life so that she might know what it means to be a Christian, Wife, and Mother.
To support my husband throughout his deployment and to keep a postive attitude for the sake of my daughter.

I started by taking action last night. Mondays are usually my “catch-up” day filled w. all the boring duties of cleaning, laundry, etc. My two darling daughters don’t often get enough attention on Mondays. So last night, I spent extra time in the Word before bed. I woke & started the day as usual, got the laundry on the line, fed littlest, then my big girl, got littlest down for morning nap, but THEN the Lord stopped me before I reached the sink full of dishes, & told me to get out the glue.
My eldest & I then did 3 projects (one being YOUR Letter A Scripture project on Prov. 15:1), and then when the baby woke up we went out and enjoyed the baby pool sprinkler, & popsickles.
I feel more fulfilled as a believer & a mom than I’ve felt in a while.
