Welcome To Inspired To Action

By January 20, 2010Featured Posts, General

welcome signWelcome! My name is Kat and I’m so excited to introduce this new blog to you. Inspired To Action is dedicated to practically helping moms develop the habits and skills they need to effectively manage their homes and raise children capable of changing the world.

My hope is that you wouldn’t just read the posts, but that you’d respond to them. I’ll work to make the posts simple, practical, doable and inspiring.

I have a lot of work ahead of me, but I know it will be worth it.

A Different Kind Of Blog

One difference you’ll notice about this blog is that it will be primarily theme based. Instead of 3-5 relatively unrelated posts per week, I’ll post a series over the course of a week or two. I won’t just share a helpful idea. I’ll walk you through implementing it with plenty of room for questions, feedback and encouragement.

This might not appeal to everyone and I’m ok with that. I’d rather that this community be made up of 10 “responders” than 300 “readers.” Because if no one is responding to what I write…what is the point?

I want this blog to not only inspire you but to assist you in taking action towards change.

Our First Series

The first series will be about developing a morning routine. I’ll cover the content in my Maximize Your Mornings ebook (it’s free, download it here), as well as go deeper in a few key areas.

free ebook for moms - Maximize Your MorningsI’ll also solicit YOUR feedback. What are your biggest roadblocks? Your keys to success? We’ll solve problems, develop solutions and do everything we can to help each of you create a morning routine that jump starts your day.

The new series will start February 1st. If you haven’t already done so, you might want to go ahead and subscribe to the RSS feed.

Spread the Word

I truly believe that a solid morning routine is foundational to what we want to accomplish as moms. Would you consider helping other moms by getting the word out about this series? You can paste this nifty little button in a blog post, on your sidebar or on your Facebook Page.

I just downloaded and read your ebook – it sounds so amazing and awesome. I have always wanted to be an early riser, but have never made it a priority. I’m struggling a little now because I have a 10-week-old baby who is still up 2x in the night. I’m asking the Lord to give me strength and multiply the rest that I do get so I can join you on this road! Thanks for the inspiration.

Well done Kat! I love how you’ve re-branded the site. What a great idea and a perfect niche for you.

    Thanks Everyone!!!!

  • Lynn says:

This looks like a great blog. Every mother wants to be a wonderful mother. I like the idea of sharing several days consecutively on one topic. I think that will inspire/motivate me to make the chages I want to make. Lynn

  • Lynn says:

I just subscribed to the RSS feed, but to be honest, I often forget to check that feed. I really only occasionaly think to check on those sites. Could you also provide a way to sign up so the link goes directly into my mailbox? Then I would miss an issue. Lynn

  • Kat says:

I’ve set it up now to give you the option to subscribe via RSS or email.

    Thanks for the suggestion!

a friend just sugged this site to me. can’t wait to dig in and get started. have 18 mos old twins, sahm, daughter of God, and need help! :0)

    • Kat says:

18 month old twins…that just sounds exhausting. I hope you find this blog to be a place of encouragement and inspiration.

  • I’ll be checking in with you, for sure!

I think the biggest road block for me to rising early begins the night before. I’m mama to 2 active boys (1 1/2 and 4 1/2) and I SO relish those quiet un-interrupted hours after their bedtime that before I know it, I’ve stayed up too late to have enough rest come the early wake up call.

    • Kat says:

I COMPLETELY understand about struggling with the night before and getting to bed on time. I’ve been getting gradually better about it, but going to bed on time has actually been a harder journey for me than getting up on time. The solitude of the evening is so inviting!

  • Jenni says:

I’d love to follow this blog. I think it’s great to get up early, but have really struggled like other moms here who have young babies (mine’s just turning 5 months old). I think it will help to have a community of people who are trying to do the same thing as well.

    • Kat says:

Oh, those early months are so hard. I hope you’ll find lots of tips and encouragement from other moms here.

  • Gretchen says:

I love your Ebook. I recommended it on one of my posts. I can’t get the button to load correctly in my WordPress blog though. I am technically inept.
.-= Gretchen´s last blog ..Menu Planning III Γ’β‚¬β€œ Putting your menu into action =-.

    • Kat says:

      Thanks for the recommendation!

You’re not technically inept, WordPress.com does weird things with quotemarks. Try retyping the quotes in the code. That should do the trick.

  • Paula says:

I am a grandma that is raising two of my grandkids ages 9 and 11. So getting back to the ‘mother’ role has not been easy for me. I also work full time as an RN on the 2p-10p shift. I have not yet read your ebook but I need to learn how to maximize my mornings. I am so tired all the time! Looking forward to the blog but try to remember we are not all young and some of us are grannys

    • Kat says:

You have a special place in my heart, then. My father was a single dad until I was a teenager and my Grandmother played a very, very, very important part in my life. I’ll be praying for you tonight and I hope you’ll share some of your wisdom with us in the coming months.

  • Elena says:

    Hi Kat!
Thank you so much for sharing your ideas and taking the time to write a blog! I have been waking up early for about 2months, and I love it. I ´m not a mother, I live at my parents home, and we are many people under one roof! Getting that 1 hour of the day all by myself has been a true blessing. I never thought that my house could be quiet at some point of the day (or night) πŸ™‚
Thank you again. I can´t wait to read your posts

    • Kat says:

That’s SO awesome that you’re starting a routine now, especially in the midst of a busy house. Well done!

  • Stephanie says:

Loved your e-book and began to implement it but then we had major sickness, my daughter had pneumonia, in our house and it fell apart due to my exhaustion. I have tried to get back into it with no luck so far. Glad that you are starting this blog and walking me through step-by-step again…this time will be different!! God Bless!

    • Kat says:

Isn’t that how it always happens? We start a routine and then insanity ensues?

Hopefully, by the end of next week, you’ll be well on your way to a great routine.

  • Kali says:

Loved the e-book and was truly encouraged by it and the lanch of this website. Being the mommy of a 15 week old has caused me to miss my morning time with God and I feel like I run through the whole day just trying to stay caught up. My son recently decided to no longer sleep through the night which has made me a zombie during the day. I hope to find the encouragement I need here to truly maximize my mornings. Thanks Kat for your dedication to this blog and to all of us SAHMs.

  • Snapper119 says:

I’m very much looking forward to this!

  • Jeni says:

Count me in. I’ve had about as much as I can take of waking to the day already swirling about me, trying to drown me. And I like beginning on a Monday.

  • Sarah says:

Oh I am so looking forward to this. I got the e-book to read and I am hoping that the encouragement of you and other mommies will help me. I’m due in about 5 weeks with our first babies — twins! And I am super apprehensive about how our lives are going to change. I know it will be chaos for a while but hopefully we will eventually be able to get into some kind of routine πŸ™‚

    • Jeni says:

As a mom of twins (and some others), I want to confirm that yes, it is chaos, and yes, you’ll eventually get into a routine. Because you know you’re having twins (I didn’t, until the second one was born), you’re probably reading up on everything twin-related and know what’s ahead. You really need help for about six months, and after a year you’ll begin distinguishing one day from another. Mothering twins is the hardest thing I’ve done yet, and the most rewarding. God bless you!

  • Brianna says:

Thank you, Kat, for this new blog. I’m really looking forward to it. Just downloaded your e-book a few weeks ago and am still working on implementing it… So – this blog is timed very nicely. =) I so badly want to live, really live, the life that Jesus came to give me — especially as a mom. So my kids want to follow hard after Him too. Thank you for your inspiration.

  • Catie says:

One of my first goals for 2010 was to have a consistent early morning routine. I found your e-book just after beginning to implement it. I am subscribing to the blog and looking forward to learning from it.

  • Pamela says:

    Hi again,
    I posted yesterday Jan28 around 4:30pm but today I don’t

I’m very excited to be taking part in this and came upon your e-book right at the time I had decided it was time to make a change for the better with my morning routine (or lack thereof).

    Count me in!

  • Faith says:

Oh my goodness!!! I’m just in time! I found your site through another blog I frequent.

THIS series is looking pretty darn exciting! Book is downloaded – blog is added to my bloglines!

    THANK YOU!!!

  • Emily says:

Hi, trying to get to the ebook but for some reason not getting any emails about it. I look forward to following your blog and starting some new, good for me habits πŸ™‚

    • Kat says:

Sorry about that! I just emailed it to you. Let me know if you don’t see it in your inbox in the next 30 minutes or so.

  • Erika says:

Thanks so much! I linked over here at a perfect time! My husband and I have been working toward establishing a consistent LIFE πŸ™‚ for the months before our last child was born and getting back to our goals now that our Christmas travels are over and the littlest one is 3 1/2 months (oh, and all the colds that cycled through the family after we got home!)

So I am really excited–I’ve subscribed in my Google reader (and have already unsubscribed to some of the “informational” blogs that are big distractions! πŸ™‚ Thanks again!!!

  • Sharon says:

Kat, thank you again for opening you mouth with wisdom as Proverbs 31:26 states! I am so grateful for my morning routine. Just wanted to let you know I am sticking with it.

    5am is ridiculously AWESOME!

I prayed last night to find a way to better myself. To find a way to somehow be a morning person. As I slowly fell into my routine of sille and unproductive blog hopping I stumbled on your blog.
I know that it is an answer to prayer and I thank you for having the inspriation to put this together.
